Catherine (Katie) Colombois an attorney with Oshins & Associates, LLC, in Las Vegas. Her practice focuses primarily on estate, business and asset protection planning. Katie counsels high net worth clients on the implications of the estate, gift and generation skipping transfer taxes on their estates and implements strategies to reduce such clients’ exposure to these taxes. In 2009 and 2010, Katie was listed as one of Nevada’s Rising Stars in the Mountain States Super Lawyers, an honor earned by less than 2.5% of attorneys. Katie is a member of both the State Bars of Michigan and Nevada, and the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council. She obtained her J.D. degree at the WayneStateUniversityLawSchool in Detroit, Michigan and her LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami in Florida.
Katie has co-authored several articles including, “Protecting Your Most Valuable Assets,” Around Your Home (April 2008); “The Revocable Trust: A Powerful Tool to Protect Your Most Valuable Assets,” Around Your Home (June 2008);and “Drafting a Trust for Maximum Creditor and Divorce Protection,” Communiqué (November 2008). Katie has spoken at local seminars on asset protection and estate planning.
