HEIDI C. FREEMAN is a member of the Law Offices of Oshins & Associates, LLC in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her practice areas include estate, business and asset protection planning with a special emphasis on Dynasty Trusts, Nevada Asset Protection Trusts and Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, she was listed as one of Nevada’s Rising Stars in the Mountain States Super Lawyers magazine for (1) Tax and (2) Estate Planning & Probate, an honor earned by less than 2.5% of attorneys. A New Jersey native, Ms. Freeman was raised in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. She received a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Oregon in 1999 and earned her J.D. with honors at The University of Texas School of Law in 2003. While attending law school, Ms. Freeman served as a research assistant to Estate Planning Professor, Stanley Johanson. Ms. Freeman is a member of the State Bar of Nevada and is currently serving as the Vice President for the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council.
Ms. Freeman co-authored the articles: "Efficient Use of Nonqualified Stock Options as a Wealth Transfer Vehicle," Estate Planning (Sept. 2005),"Minimizing the Risks of Owning Hot Investment Properties," Broker Agent (Sept. 2005) and “Nevada’s Homestead Exemption – A simple way to protect the equity in your home,” Around Your Home and Your Neighborhood (May 2008). She has given presentations on the topics of Advanced Asset Protection and Advanced Wealth Shifting Techniques at Lorman Education seminars and was a key-note speaker at a comprehensive estate planning conference for a national broker-dealer.
